BSO:Last Night Of The Christmas Proms

Christmas just isn’t Christmas without the BSO’s Last Night of the Christmas Proms concert! Celebrate the festive season with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at Exeter University Great Hall on Friday 18 December. What is Christmas if not a time to reconnect with old friends… so the BSO are thrilled to be joined once more by the wonderful pianist and singer extraordinaire Joe Stilgoe! Joe will be showcasing his musical talents with a hamper full of Christmas musical goodies alongside all your festive orchestral favourites, and a first half of classic jazzy treats. Joe works regularly with orchestra across the UK and can be heard extensively on radio, having hosted and starred many times in BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night, while also being a regular presence on the station (Joe Stilgoe – Christmas At The Movies, Jingle Bell Joe, One Night Stand at Ronnie Scotts), and being a regular guest and presenter on JazzFM, Radio 3 and Radio 4. This concert is part of their BSO Pops series – this fantastic array of concerts include popular classics that you will recognize from TV and adverts to full- blown symphonic Spectaculars showcasing the music of the likes of Queen, ABBA and Pink Floyd and outdoor extravaganzas at Meyrick Park in Bournemouth. They also perform regular film music nights which feature some of the best movie classics ever written and an annual feast of Christmas and New Year seasonal treats.
