Meeting people safely
Groups and meetups are for making plans with people you haven't met. Most people are lovely; these habits help keep it that way.
- Meet at the venue or somewhere public and busy, not at someone's home.
- Tell a friend who you're meeting, where and when.
- Get yourself there and home again: don't rely on someone you've just met for a lift.
- Keep chat in the app until you're comfortable. Your email address is never shown to other members.
- Trust your instincts. You can cancel at any time, and you never owe anyone an explanation.
- Use Block to stop someone contacting you, and Report to tell the editors. Every report is read by a person.
If you feel in danger, call 999.
