Sam Michael: The World’s Oldest Man

What life advice did the Guinness World Records’ Oldest Man give Sam Michael — and why did it make him rethink everything from love, to his health, to Butlins Big Weekenders? Forever failing to live in the moment, this lad-turned-tired-dad takes a hilarious, nostalgic look at missing his chance to seize the day in youth — less Carpe Diem, more It can wait until tomorrow (Potest donec cras!) — and his increasingly tragic attempts to make up for it before he hits 40. The World’s Oldest Man is Sam Michael’s debut solo show: warm, self-deprecating, and packed with relatable regret. Chortle calls it “An enjoyable hour in easy-going company” and “Cheekily self-deprecating… engagingly told by a natural, relaxed performer.” Sam Michael is fast becoming one of the most exciting voices on the UK comedy circuit. With performances described as a “comedy masterclass” on BBC Bristol, he has also supported Al Murray, Dom Joly, Matt Richardson, and others on their national tours. “Cheekily self-deprecating… a nicely packaged, story, engagingly told by a natural, relaxed performer” – Chortle “Very good, very funny” – Dom Joly “A comedy masterclass” – BBC Radio Bristol This event is an external hire.
